How to Restore a JetBackup Backup of Emails


If you’ve accidentally deleted emails or need to recover old messages, JetBackup allows you to restore email backups easily. Follow this guide to recover your emails via your Dynamic Servers cPanel account.


Prerequisites:

  • Access to your Dynamic Servers cPanel account.
  • JetBackup must be enabled for your hosting plan.
  • Login credentials for cPanel (accessible via cpanel.dynamicsone.co.uk).

Steps to Restore Emails Using JetBackup

1. Log in to cPanel

  • Visit cpanel.dynamicsone.co.uk.
  • Log in using your username and password provided by Dynamic Servers - Can be found within the services section of your client account.

2. Access JetBackup

  • Once logged in, scroll down to the JetBackup section in cPanel.
  • Click on “Email Backups”. This option will display the list of available email backups.

3. Select Your Email Backup

  • In the Email Backups section, you will see a list of backups sorted by date and time.
  • Identify the desired backup (e.g., the date before your emails were lost or deleted).

4. Choose the Email Account

  • JetBackup will display all email accounts linked to your hosting account.
  • Locate and select the email account you need to restore.

5. Initiate the Restoration

  • After selecting the appropriate email account and backup date, click on the “Restore” button.
  • A confirmation prompt will appear—click “Yes” to begin the restoration process.

6. Monitor the Restore Progress

  • The restoration process may take a few minutes, depending on the size of the backup.
  • To monitor the progress:
    • Go to the JetBackup Queue or Restore Logs section in JetBackup.
  • You will see a status update once the restore is complete.

7. Verify the Restored Emails

  • Log in to your email account via Webmail or your preferred email client (e.g., Outlook, Thunderbird).
  • Verify that the emails have been successfully restored.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Backup Not Found: If the desired backup is not visible, ensure backups are enabled for your account or contact Dynamic Servers support.
  • Emails Still Missing: Double-check that you selected the correct email account and backup date.
  • Partial Restores: Large email accounts may take longer to restore. Allow some time and check again.
